Sunday’s
One of our favorite days together is Sunday. It’s a time for us to reflect on the week and really take advantage of our quality time. We love our church so much as it has been a huge blessing in our lives as both individuals and as a couple. We have grown so much through the power of Christ. We serve in many capacities in the church and since the beginning of our relationship our goal was to continue to stretch ourselves spiritually because only then could be truly grow as a couple in Christ and have a foundation centered on Him not us.
We have learned the power of trust, grace, connecting in community, deeping our relationship with God and loving fully/unconditionally no matter what. If anything I can say is critical in a relationship that I never had before is making it Christ centered. Period. In addition to open communication and dialogue, it’s the ultimate of knowing not only who you are marrying and also knowing your goals spiritually. If you don’t even know where you are in your relationship with God how can you expect to grow personally or as husband and wife? The sermon today spoke about trials and circumstances that feel often that we can no longer bear or go on. Those times when the strength is taken out from under us and we feel incapable. But ... the key thing here is that is when God is trying to speak most of all. He never leaves us. Never leaves us or puts anything that we can’t handle in front of us as if it is a test or a design for us to fail. It’s the exact opposite. What we learn time and time again is how to fully trust Him in all things not just some, but all. One of the many highlights that struck with me was this line, “sometimes pain isn’t primitive it brings promotion.” Our God is always faithful.
After service we decided to go around White Rock Lake reflecting about the sermon and taking some photos with Leighton’s new camera that my dad gifted him. Below are a few fun photos/video. :)
